AMERICAN JUSTICE® chronicled the developments in the Routier case and aired in spring of 2001. The program narration was updated after the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals denied Routier's direct appeal. Mr. Kurtis mistakenly states, at the end of the updated narration, that the US Court of Appeals affirmed the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals decision. However, Ms. Routier's attorney's had simply filed for the United States Supreme Court to hear and make a decision with regards to the transcript issues, and not the State of Texas' case against Ms. Routier.
